Profile Preferences
- Parents and students should discuss the information students include in their profile.
- Profiles are accessible to Athena’s administrators, educators, and other students at Athena’s.
- If desired, refer to information about email & forum preferences in the Email Preferences section.
- Athena’s reserves the right to change, hide, or delete any information posted on an Athena’s platform if it offends or could potentially offend other students, educators, or administrators or is in violation of a policy at Athena’s.
- When users first access our classrooms, they will want to customize their profile.
A user’s profile is viewable by other users and displays any personal information that users choose to share.
In addition, users can add a profile picture and add a brief & friendly description of themselves. - Make sure the user profile is fun and reflects the user’s personality.
The user will want to include information that will help the user connect with other students. - Make sure all the information posted is appropriate for Athena’s and does not share information like addresses and phone numbers.
- Click on My Courses and then Profile to pull up the Profile Settings.
- Refer to the Video Overview: Editing the User Profile in the Profile & Email Preferences section
- To update the user’s profile, select Edit Profile from the Preferences screen.
Then, complete these steps:
- Enter a bit of information about the user in the Description text area.
- Under User Picture > New Picture, upload a user picture using the file picker or drag and drop an image.
- Select the Update profile button.
Users may edit all profile fields except their first name and email address.
Parents should email the administration if changes need to be made to the first name and/or email address fields.

- Remember: Keep your last name to 22 characters or less (including spaces). The webinar room is likely to not allow access to last names that are longer than 22 characters.
